Why this role matters
The Doorways program provides person centred care to community members experiencing financial or other forms of hardship through the provision of financial and material emergency relief. Case management is provided at some of the Doorways sites to engage people through early intervention as well as address long term disadvantage to break the cycle of poverty and alleviate financial hardship. Our practitioners are strength based and trauma informed in their practice to build individual capacity, resilience and wellbeing.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Doorways Case Worker, at our Karratha location. Reporting to the Doorways Regional Coordinator, this is a permanent, full-time position.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 4. Due to the remote nature of this role, the annual base salary receives an additional 9%.
You will successfully
Provide a holistic case work service to people experiencing financial hardship.
Provide the program service within the boundaries of qualifications and experience under the Doorways Delivery Model and under the direction of the Doorways Regional Manager.
Provide a prevention and early intervention response to people in need, in an effort to prevent the initial crisis escalating out of control and further entrenching them in poverty and disadvantage.
Development of individual case plans in collaboration with clients.
Develop holistic and achievable options with clients enabling them to best deal with their situations.
You will have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications)
Relevant tertiary degree with relevant experience or diploma with relevant experience; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience.
Minimum 1-year experience in case management.
Knowledge with client advocacy and working in partnership with others.
Current WA Drivers licence.
Proficient interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communications and negotiation/consultation skills.
