(CRDVS) aims to use its specialist knowledge and skills to prevent domestic and family violence in the community and empower those affected by it.

We seek to do this by providing a confidential, comprehensive, and client-centred quality service to all vulnerable clients free of charge. CRDVS at all times strives to uphold high levels of professionalism and accountability.
How You'll Make a DifferenceDue to internal movement, we are now looking for a part-time Domestic Violence Worker (Intake and Assessment) based in Mareeba, QLD. This position is primarily responsible for providing confidential intake and risk assessment services, reporting to the Senior Practitioner, and ensuring that victims receive timely support and assistance.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing telephone and front counter information intakeConducting risk assessments and making referrals as requiredAssisting with Domestic Violence Protection Order applicationsOffering crisis counselling and support at Mareeba Domestic Violence CourtDeveloping and maintaining professional and client resourcesParticipating in community education and interagency cooperationUndertaking administrative tasks and maintaining confidential recordsEngaging in regular supervision and professional developmentWhat You'll Bring to the TeamTo qualify, you will need a degree in psychology, social work, community welfare, or a related social science qualification. Experience in a role directly dealing with crisis intervention or domestic violence services will also be highly regarded but not essential. If you are currently working towards a relevant degree, significant experience in crisis intervention or domestic violence services will be required for you to be successful. Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsKnowledge of domestic and family violence legislationAbility to rapidly acquire new knowledge and skills in a dynamic environmentAs our ideal candidate, you will possess strong interpersonal skills that enable you to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse groups. You should also have the resilience and adaptability needed to handle challenging and high-stress situations with professionalism.

Please Note: All applicants must hold (or obtain) a current C Class driver's licence, a Working With Children Card and a formal police criminal history check.
