Domestic Family Sexual Violence Coordinator - Aboriginal Identified Note: This is an Identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

Employment Type: Full-Time Position Classification: Domestic Family Sexual Violence Coordinator Location: Wellington Hours Per Week: 38 Applications Close: 4 October 2024 Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation that aims to empower Aboriginal people to take control of their individual, family, and community health and wellbeing needs through our clinical and community programs.
The role of the Domestic Family Sexual Violence Coordinator will operate within the Social and Emotional Well-Being Team in Wellington.
This position is responsible/accountable for providing specialist services to the Wellington community affected by domestic, family, and sexual violence.
Key responsibilities include: Build and maintain strong relationships with external service providers and government agencies, focusing on primary health care, recovery, and healing in the DFSV sector.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individual client-centred case plans in collaboration with women impacted by DFSV.
Assist with client intake and exit planning, providing support based on trauma-informed principles and practices.
Contribute to internal policy development, service planning, and evaluation, ensuring records and reports are accurate and comply with legal obligations.
Develop peer support groups as ongoing network support for victims/survivors of DFSV.
Develop partnerships and networks within the DFSV service sector to facilitate better coordination and integration of services.
Actively support Local Family and Domestic Violence Collective.
Build capacity within the community to identify and respond to DFSV through events, workshops, and training.
Provide mentorship to trainees to ensure staff capability is developed to its full potential.
Assist in achieving the organisation's strategic objectives.
Perform other duties as required.
Experience, Qualifications & Licenses: A Certificate of Aboriginality.
A current National Police Check.
A current Working With Children Check NSW.
Current Driver's License that allows you to drive in Australia.
COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster information (or evidence of a valid medical exemption).
Relevant tertiary qualifications.
