Details of the offer

Also known as: Records management, Records manager
Is this role right for you? You'll need to have a careful eye for detail and a natural curiosity which motivates you to search for answers when something doesn't look quite right. You'll have great organisational skills and enjoy using systems to find and organise documents. You will also be proactive and enjoy working in a team where you can ask questions and share your knowledge.
What is the work environment like? You'll usually work in an office, perhaps supporting a project team. During the day you might sort electronic or hard copies of project documentation, make sure it meets certain requirements, and distribute it to those who need it. You may also need to produce progress reports. You could be involved in an entire project lifecycle – providing relevant paperwork at certain stages to make sure everything gets completed on time. You can find work as a document controller all around Australia. Most jobs are in cities and towns. Some are in remote areas.
Document controllers don't usually require qualifications. A Certificate II or Certificate III in Business may give you useful skills for the role. You could also consider a qualification in project management, engineering, business administration, or quality management. You will need (or be willing to gain) strong knowledge of enterprise-level document management software. Our industry values diverse personal and work experience. Many employers can provide you with opportunities to gain new qualifications and industry experience to help you succeed.
Liberty Onesteel Corporate Services Pty Ltd
Salaries may vary outside of these ranges, based on company size and location, level of experience, competence and time in role.
