UExcel Medical Recruitment is seeking several medicine Registrars for the 2025 clinical year in the Dept. of Medicine Basic Physician Training.
The hospital is a 400-bed public hospital providing acute care services for residents of the North and North West regions of Tasmania. It is a teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania.
During Basic Physician Training, you will be exposed to a wide range of medical specialties that are well supported and will provide you with a broad experience in both inpatient and outpatient work.

Written Exam preparation is facilitated by a weekly BPT tutorial series, Grand Round, and Journal Club. Individual units also have dedicated grand rounds as well as radiology and multidisciplinary meetings.
Clinical Exam preparation is well supported and we offer a program in partnership. Several of the consultant physicians are part of the RACP National Examining Panel, and many others are highly experienced local examiners, all are committed to teaching.
Involvement in research is encouraged, and many of the staff specialists are well published and have active research interests. They are well supported with research grants available to successful applicants, including trainees.

The General Hospital is currently accredited as a level III training hospital by the RACP, which means all 36 months of basic training can be undertaken at the health service.

Hours/Period of Appointment:Fixed term, full time, day work, working 80 hours per fortnight to commence 1 Feb 2025 for 12 months.
Essential Requirements:
General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
