Your role As a Doctor in the Air Force, you'll enjoy a blend of professional challenges, variety and travel that sets you apart from civilian practitioners. Your role is to ensure the continued health and fitness of Air Force personnel through the provision of primary care, helping to ensure our air defence capabilities are at peak levels. In a deployed environment, you'll apply your acquired specialist skills in areas such as aeromedical evacuation and aerospace medicine. You'll be significantly involved in the provision of occupational and preventive medicine services, including the long-term monitoring of the physical and mental fitness of personnel. Throughout your career you'll be given opportunities for promotion and expansion of skills into specialist areas, as well as health leadership and management. On top of this, as an Air Force Officer you'll be trained to become an inspirational leader and mentor; adept at effectively communicating with and managing teams, with a comprehensive knowledge of Air Force attitudes, values and military protocols and procedures. Upon commencing the program, your salary will be between $35,326 - $54,166 plus 16.4% superannuation depending on the completion status of your course. On completion of your degree and initial training, you could earn $122,508 per annum plus 16.4% superannuation. Location Upon completion of your training in East Sale, VIC, and Edinburgh, SA, you may be posted to any Air Force Base within Australia or possibly overseas.
