We currently have an opportunity for an experienced and supportive HS&E Advisor to join our Health, Safety & Environment National Team, based at Adelaide Airport .
More about this role: Reporting to the National GM Health Safety & Environment (Brisbane based), you will assist with the management of all processes associated with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) at our ADL site. You will also provide support to the Injury Management Manager (Melbourne based) for the local co-ordination of rehabilitation & timely return to work of staff; and our National Security & Compliance Manager (Gold Coast based) for basic site based security and compliance issues.
In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are: Assist with any workplace safety and environmental improvement plans, initiatives identified and delivered, leading to improvements in performance. Assist with the identification, mitigation and investigation of hazards/incidents and the reporting in accordance with relevant health safety and environment Standards and Legislation. Assist in effective monitoring of health safety and environmental performance including working with external auditors and undertaking internal audits, safety inspections to ensure legal compliance, best practice and continual improvement. Have complete understanding of and adhere to dnata catering policies and procedures. Provide assistance to the National Security and Compliance Manager for investigating security related incidents, management of security compliance and ABF requirements. Maintain accurate records, database and the prompt reporting of HSE hazards. Support first responders in triaging injured employees and ensure appropriate medical treatment is coordinated and available, as well as, attending initial doctors' consultations with injured workers. Coordinating communication with rehabilitation provider, the insurer and the business. Support the development and maintenance of return to work plans appropriate to an injured employee's capacity and available duties. Develop understanding among Line Managers of Legislative obligations and the benefits of rehabilitating injured/ill employees. Prepare monthly reports for key stakeholders on current injuries and illnesses. Carry out additional duties as may be reasonably requested by Senior Management. What do you need to be successful in securing this role? Formal Qualification is desirable. Demonstrated success in a similar role. Ability to work effectively with others. Understanding of State applicable Health, Safety & Environment Legislation and Workers' compensation schemes. Competent in documentation and records management using Microsoft Office.
