Diverse Learning Teacher (Secondary School)Growth in our Diverse Learning Team in Secondary means the team at JPC are already preparing for the 2025 academic year, so we are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Diverse Learning Teacher to join our School team.
This role is essential in ensuring that all students, including those who speak English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D), have access to high-quality, differentiated teaching and receive support to reach their full potential.
A Diverse Learning Teacher at JPC will work collaboratively with year-level teams and specialist staff to foster an inclusive learning environment and deliver targeted interventions that meet the individual needs of students.
They will also be required to:
Work collegially with the Head of Secondary School, Deans, Diverse Learning Leader and key liaisons.Stay up to date with current research and pedagogical practice and actively model and promote best teaching and leadership practice in Diverse Learning.Lead and support colleagues in their endeavours to promote the learning and achievement of students with diverse needs in the John Paul College Secondary School.Work proactively with key stakeholders in the Secondary School to support students and staff.Model the John Paul College Values of mutual respect, integrity, compassion and excellence.Develop effective interpersonal working relationships with students with additional learning needs, their parents, allied health professionals and other relevant stakeholders to maximise students' learning experiences and enjoyment of school.Collaborate with all school staff to ensure student-centred inclusive practices fulfil the Disability Standards for Education (2005).Lead teachers to identify and apply effective inclusive practices, through 1:1 consultation and application of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).Support NCCD and AARA processes in the Secondary school.Collaborate with the Heads of Faculties, Heads of School and teachers to design, implement and review student support arrangements and programs.Conduct formal and informal assessments and analyse relevant data to identify individual students' learning needs, including requesting and applying information from student transfer documents.Facilitate the Individual Learning Plan process for students accessing substantial and extensive adjustments.Undertake other reasonable and relevant duties within skills, knowledge and capabilities as required.About You: Secondary School Diverse Learning Teachers at JPC play an integral part in the College's Diverse Learning Program.

Our ideal candidate will have well-developed interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to consult, negotiate, interact with staff, students and parents or other stakeholders. You will also be able to demonstrate:
A personalised and collaborative approach to curriculum development.Extensive knowledge of Secondary School Diverse Learning which incorporates research-based teaching strategies, recognising how students learn best, supporting intellectual engagement and deepening student learning.Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.Previous experience in a similar role including a demonstrated ability to consult, negotiate, interact with staff, students and parents or other stakeholders.Effective organisational and management skills and competent use of ICT in classroom practice.Current QCT Registration including a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).This is a full-time permanent role which will be renumerated as per your experience in accordance with the College EBA.
