Toowoomba Grammar School (TGS) is seeking a passionate and experienced Diverse Learners Coordinator to lead the Diverse Learners program in the Junior School. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the learning outcomes of students while working collaboratively with the Head of Diverse Learners and other key stakeholders.
About the Position
In this role, you will coordinate support for students requiring additional learning adjustments. Your main responsibilities will be to develop Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), consult with teachers, parents, and students, and ensure NCCD documentation is maintained accurately. Strong organisational and leadership skills are essential, as is expertise in evidence-based inclusive practices, Universal Design for Learning, and differentiated instruction.

Demonstrated Expertise in Evidence-Based Pedagogical Practices and Inclusive Education Frameworks: Proven experience as an effective classroom teacher with expert knowledge of the Australian curriculum, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and other whole-school inclusive education frameworks. Skilled in implementing age-equivalent curricula, differentiated instruction, and inclusive strategies to support students' access to education at various academic levels.
Data-Driven Instructional Planning and Assessment: Ability to utilise data-informed practices and screening/diagnostic assessment tools effectively to support a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). Experience in planning and evaluating instructional adjustments and interventions for literacy and numeracy to enhance student learning outcomes.
Strong Consultation and Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to consult with and involve parents, students, and teachers in assessing student strengths and challenges, identifying functional impacts, and designing instructional, curriculum, social/emotional, and environmental adjustments that align with individual learning goals.
Preparation and Management of Documentation for NCCD and Funding Applications: Demonstrated capacity to manage NCCD data and documentation requirements effectively, ensuring compliance with reporting standards and supporting applications for funding related to additional needs and diverse learning support.
Organisational and Leadership Abilities in Diverse Learning Coordination: Highly organised, with proven experience managing multiple responsibilities, including the coordination of Teacher Aide deployment, monitoring student referrals, and communicating across Junior School teams. Skilled in leading teams to ensure seamless support for diverse learners, including at key transition points within the school.
Commitment to Professional Development and School Community Engagement: Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in inclusive education, with a proactive approach to building relationships with families and collaborating with external professionals. An energetic, motivated, and empathetic approach to partnering with parents, staff, and the broader community in supporting student needs.
Proficiency in Integrating ICT to Enhance Learning: Strong understanding of ICT tools and their effective use in the classroom to improve engagement and learning outcomes. Ability to leverage technology to support student differentiation and enhance curriculum delivery.
