Position No: DBCA3027382 and DBCA3166000 Salary/Level: Level 3 or 4, $79,156 - $84,977 or $87,712 - $92,057 p.a. plus 11.5% Superannuation
Location: Busselton and Collie or Harvey, Western Australia
We are currently seeking two District Operations Officers - Work, Health and Safety to join the team. One of these positions will be based in the Blackwood District (Busselton) and the other position will be based in the Wellington District (Collie or Harvey).
The successful applicants will:
Review and monitor all aspects of workplace safety in the district. Provide focus and guidance to all employees and contractors working within the district on safety related matters.Collate and disseminate information relating to safe working practices.Ensure Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and a process for the completion of job inductions, exists and occurs within the district.Facilitate Work, Health and Safety (WHS) training and inductions for district staff and contractors.Coordinate district training requirements and maintains a database of all training undertaken in the district.Facilitate the procurement, maintenance and utilisation of safety equipment as appropriate for the work undertaken.Engage with the Regional Operations Officer WHS and the Health, Safety and Wellbeing section to ensure a consistent approach to WHS is achieved.At DBCA, we have adopted Leadership Expectations which provides a common understanding of the mindsets and expected behaviours required of all our employees and the public sector. Selection Criteria Considerable operational (Level 4) or operational (Level 3) ability and experience in natural resource management including environmental, recreational, fire, forest and park management or similar.Demonstrated experience of high-level leadership, supervisory (Level 4) or some experience in leadership (Level 3), works program planning, and an appreciation of how to conduct work, health and safety reviews of work practices, present training and information sessions and recommend improvements to work practices.Evidence of well-developed (Level 4) or good (Level 3) oral communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in effective liaison with other government agencies, non-government agencies, industry, stakeholders, and community interest groups, to achieve acceptable outcomes within specified timeframes.Demonstrated experience (Level 4) or experience (Level 3) in, and knowledge of applying administrative processes, with a preference for someone with an appreciation of the workers compensation process.Closing date: Tuesday, 3 December 2024 at 12 noon AWST (3pm AEDT).
