About The Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local Health District is recruiting for a District Director, Healthier Communities. The Director is responsible for improving the accessibility and equity of health service delivery to vulnerable and priority population groups living within the South Western Sydney region through extensive engagement and collaboration across multiple agencies across both government and non-government health sectors. 
What you'll be doing
The District Director, Healthier Communities is responsible for leading the strategic and operational functions, development, implementation and coordination of community-based health services, population health services and integrated health initiatives within SWSLHD. The portfolio involves complex change management challenges, reviews and changes to improve current models of care, and service partnerships across Oral Health, Drug Health and Health Languages, Interpreters and Multicultural Health services. 

The role drives improved health outcomes, prevention and health protection, community engagement, patient experience and models of care, working towards greater overall efficiency of health care system delivery. The Director is responsible for improving the accessibility and equity of health service delivery to vulnerable and priority population groups living within the South Western Sydney region through extensive engagement and collaboration across multiple agencies across both government and non-government health sectors.

Demonstrated experience in senior or executive management in a large and complex organisation with relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a large operating budget and manage complex and contentious issues with high-level critical thinking and sound decision-making skillsDemonstrated understanding of the structures and functioning of the NSW Public Health SectorProven ability to oversee strategic health service development and successful organisational change and improvement initiativesDemonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including effective consultation and negotiation skills to resolve complex matters with stakeholders including health professional, local community, peers, government and non-government agencies and staffDemonstrated leadership and high level of proficiency in strategic and business planningDemonstrated ability to lead, develop and establish high performing teams in a complex multidisciplinary organisation in a continuing climate of change, increasing effectiveness and accountability.Extensive knowledge of issues and policies affecting community and population-based health services and their hospital and services integration in NSWStepping Up – Close the Gap
