The Mount Barker District Council is an exciting place to work and live, situated just 35 minutes from the Adelaide CBD in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. Our Council serves a progressive community, forecast to grow from 30,000 to over 60,000 over the next 25 years, and as a result, we will be developing major community facilities and infrastructure including new and upgraded roads, trails, intersection controls, and more.
A unique opportunity exists to join the Infrastructure Planning Team. This new position will play a lead role in implementing the actions of Council's newly written and adopted Integrated Transport Plan – a plan that has had a remarkable level of community engagement and support.
You'll be a senior member of a motivated team striving to continue Mount Barker District Council's commitment to provide a safe and effective transport network for the community and visitors to the District. Specifically, you will help deliver a large program of works in response to the growth with coverage of road safety, active transport systems, road upgrades, technology, and the like. You will work alongside seasoned professionals and also have the opportunity to mentor younger engineers.
To be successful in the role, you'll be a customer-focused professional and come to us with a sound knowledge of the principles fundamental to being a transport planning and traffic engineering Subject Matter Expert. You will have extensive technical knowledge in the field of traffic engineering and transport planning and a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline, or simply equivalent and extensive relevant experience.

Salary range is $111,207 – $127,547 plus superannuation commensurate with skills, qualifications, and experience.
