Position Summary We are looking for a Distribution Centre Supervisor for Nestlé Purina based at our Innisfail Distribution Center, reporting into the Distribution Centre Manager. This role will be responsible for all Warehouse Department functions including but not limited to scheduling, coaching, and training warehouse personnel. They will continuously assess and improve internal processes and systems, manage inventory levels and variances while ensuring all quantitative and qualitative measures in the operating plan are being met including labor utilization, resource optimization and losses.
A day in the life of a Distribution Centre Supervisor As a Distribution Centre Supervisor you will be monitoring the movement of all goods. Externally includes: carrier selection, load planning, and cost/benefit analysis. Internally includes: space planning, equipment and resource management. You will also work cross-functionally and maintain strong relationships with Distribution Centres, Logistics, carriers and suppliers.
You will also: Monitor all administration control for all shipping and receiving activities. Monitor inventory accuracy and maintain FEFO adherence. Coordinate with all Departments to maximize overall effectiveness and efficiency of the operation. Initiate process improvements by coaching the warehouse group to identify potential savings and assist with their implementation. Ensure the allocation of regular and overtime hours, and appropriate vacation coverage. Monitor, communicate and enforce personal safety and facility protection procedure ensuring compliance with all government legislations. What will make you successful? A minimum 3 – 5 years' experience as a Supervisor in warehouse operations. Community College Diploma or University Degree in a related field is preferred. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail with strong initiative, customer service focused attributes. Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong computer skills, with working knowledge of warehouse systems (SAP highly desired), intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is preferred. Payroll Kronos experience.
