Disposal Support And Plant Operator - Magnetic Island Council RolePermanent roles for the right person 9 day fortnight About Our ClientThe Townsville City Council are seeking a Plant Operator to join their Waste Management Team on a 3 month assignment with the potential of a permanent position.
What You Will Be DoingAs Disposal Support and Plant Operator, you will have the following duties:
Conduct litter management at landfills and transfer stations.Supervise transfer station and recycling processes.Undertake manual handling duties.Maintain hazardous waste collection sheds.Operate landfill machinery and associated equipment.Reject materials outside approved acceptance criteria.Determine correct tip charges for waste disposal.Demonstrate a commitment to a high standard of customer service.Exercise responsibility for Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental Protection, EEO, Anti-discrimination, and privacy obligations.Operate weighbridges and associated technology to record transaction details accurately.What You Will NeedEssential: Ability to pass a Police CheckTelehandler Ticket (preferred)Front End Loader Ticket (LL)Compactor Ticket (LR)White CardCurrent QLD HR LicenceAbility to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol testDesirable: Grader Ticket (LG)Excavator Ticket (LE)Dozer Ticket (LZ)Backhoe Ticket (LR)BenefitsOpportunity to trial a role with the Council.
