Opportunity
Perform the Dispatch Team Leader requirements to support our company's Animal Health intelligence/Allflex operations in our Brisbane, Australia manufacturing site, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
Operational dispatch Team Leader role with a direct report of a small team.
Appropriate organization and timely dispatch of outbound goods is key to ensure we maintain customer expectations of manufacturing goods for operations, in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, however not limited to:
Ensures that Safety culture is embedded in the day-to-day work as a priority.
Supervise and co-ordinate the work of others within and beyond their department.
Support Supply Chain Manager with any subsequent duties/requirements.
Daily monitoring of order movements to ensure efficient and effective dispatch.
Efficient dispatch of export shipments and management of associated paperwork.
Timely approvals of freight invoices.
Assist all subsequent departments with customer enquiries, status, and freight quotes & schedules.
Ordering of freight consumables.
Maintain System controls to aid team, ie. Backordering of Stock, Undespatching etc.
Assign and monitor work/output of team in line with daily KPI targets and Customer demands.
Identify logistics procedural gaps and assist in the development and implementation to mitigate business risks.
Review staff performance providing regular feedback for growth development and using HR platforms to perform formal performance reviews.
Identify talent potential, skill shortages and training pathways for direct reports to maintain stable production operations.
Assisting Supply Chain Manager with operational and capital expense budget processes where required.
Assisting on recruitment activities to maintain necessary team headcount.
Manage team roster and leave requests. Verify and approve daily timesheets for permanent and contingent workers.
Perform remuneration reviews, calibrations, and other end of year processes for their team using HR platforms and processes.
Understand and promote production Key Performance Indicators (KPI) such as Dispatch levels, yield, reduction of waste and other primary goals within the production team.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the Quality and Environmental Health & Safety procedures and policies. Be proactive in site safety by promptly informing through EH&S Officers and representatives of any hazards, risks, or incidents.
Plan operator to stations rostering and rotations according to operator training level to follow production schedule provided.
Complete all production reports and other documentation ensuring good communication and record keeping practices.
Able to apply knowledge and skills to other departments and provide technical guidance and training.
Actively participates in identifying and solving complex operational problems.
Developing and maintaining inspection reports.
Support the production on problem solving analysis.
Ensuring goods and products comply with company standards.
Audit periodically the process according to the Production Basics.
If correspond, ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
Reporting quality anomalies and identify containment actions to support Tier meetings.
Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality, processes, and systems.
Ensures that the dispatch system is compliant with the policy guidelines and properly updated.
What You Must Have
Previous Supervisory or Team Leader experience essential
Expertise in Continuous Improvement techniques and implementation
Advanced organisational and logistics skills required
Computer skills. High level of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel skillset required
SAP system knowledge an advantage
Multiskilled abilities
Pragmatic, organised and methodical with a customer focus
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to problem solve
Proactive critical thinking
Strong attention to detail, time management skills and tidy in nature
Be physically able to manual handle
Ability to demonstrate emotional intelligence, empathy, resilience, and change agility
