Team Leaders/Supervisors (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Full time Pacific Meat Sales is a family-owned business operating for over 25 years, specializing in high-quality meat sales to a domestic and export market.
Our focus is on Pork, Beef, and Veal, supplied through 5 different brands.
We are recruiting a motivated and dynamic leader to join us as a Production Team Leader at our meat processing and packing facility in Thomastown.
The ideal candidate will possess effective communication skills, efficient time management skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, and solid leadership skills.
The person will need to have a commitment to continuous improvement, learning, and development of all production staff as required.
Job Summary The Dispatch Supervisor will oversee daily dispatch operations to ensure timely and efficient scheduling of deliveries and services.
This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a focus on achieving operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities will be, but are not limited to: Supervise and coordinate the dispatch team to meet daily operational goals.Develop and maintain schedules for drivers, vehicles, or technicians.Monitor and track deliveries, ensuring on-time performance and compliance with company standards.Resolve dispatch-related issues promptly and effectively.Collaborate with other departments to align dispatch activities with overall company objectives.Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of dispatch staff.Utilize dispatch software and tools to streamline processes and track metrics.Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.Prepare reports and provide updates to management on operational performance.Monitor and direct production staff to efficiently meet production requirements.Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback where required.Ensure work performed is in compliance with the company's quality policy, quality manual, procedures, processes, work instructions, and position descriptions.Ensure a safe working environment in line with Work, Health, and Safety (WH&S) standards.Build and develop a quality team environment to ensure the company's overall objectives are achieved.Facilitate effective internal communication, including the internal communication channels, areas of improvement, and other related matters.Provide an environment where staff are empowered to reach their full personal and professional potential.Constantly review and develop company processes to provide premium warehousing whilst ensuring productivity and financial objectives are achieved.Manage any queries or issues that arise.Address any issues and provide solution-based answers to internal management.Facilitate and oversee the complete stock take of the chiller and freezer regularly.Monitor staff morale and the general work environment to ensure a happy and productive workplace.Skills required Minimum 2-3 years of Supervisory Management.Knowledge of food industry supply chains.Sound technical knowledge of meat processing.Relevant qualification and/or experience in Food Processing, Food Technology, Food Science, or Meat processing.HACCP/GMP knowledge.Demonstrated high-level skills in the following areas: negotiation, communication, influencing, coaching, relationship management, business, strategic, and project management skills.What's in it for you A competitive salary plus statutory superannuation is on offer depending on experience.Work for a family-owned business where a strong safety mindset is a norm.This is a full-time, permanent position, based in Thomastown, VIC.PLEASE NOTE - This role will involve working with Beef and Pork meat in a cold environment.
