Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.
In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground Steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.
Job DescriptionYou will be responsible for the smooth coordination of the dispatch function at Capcoal Lake Lindsay Open Cut mine in Middlemount.
You will monitor fleet management systems and standards to predictably deliver and sustain the required asset performance and cost objectives.
You will contribute to the Department's strategic objectives by providing leadership and guidance to the dispatch function.
Key responsibilities include: Lead the dispatch function at the siteOversee the optimisation of fleet productivityEnsure compliance with the Time Usage ModelMaximise Fleet Management algorithms by running optimised in appropriate circumstances as often as possibleUse FMS Data to provide feedback to OCE/Supervisors on Operator compliance and proficiencyPerform Short-Interval Controls and work collectively with the OCE/Supervisors to return production to planned ratesFacilitate change within the team, help and coach personnel to improve strategies and eliminate inefficiencies from dispatch processesLead and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesQualificationsTo be successful you will have the following:
Previous experience in the optimisation of Fleet Management Systems, preferably in an open cut coal mining environmentDemonstrated experience leading a team of professionals to deliver against set targetsExcellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skillsHigh level of computer literacyExcellent problem-solving skills and logical aptitudeAbility to undertake work activities autonomously and in accordance with standards, rules and proceduresExperienced at prioritising competing tasksWorking knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations and how they pertain to individual and supervisor obligationsExcellent knowledge of mining processes and systemsAdvanced understanding of the Haul Cycle and continuous improvement strategiesAdditional InformationFull-time, permanent position Monday to FridayFlexible work options available, including 9-day fortnightFIFO, DIDO, Residential optionsRelocation Assistance ProvidedMiddlemount Housing and Assistance (Sal Sac)Attractive Salary & Annual Bonus + 12% SuperannuationFree access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP)What we Offer
