What does a support worker do? The day-to-day job of a support worker is full of variety. It isbuilt around the needs of the person you are supporting. Itcan include helping them to carry out daily tasks like: Personal care (showering, grooming and dressing) Medication administration Meal preparation Transport Purchases Record keeping and reporting

It can also include supporting a person to stay connected withtheir friends, family and the community, learn new skills, orpursue their personal interests and hobbies. Anglicare Tasmania is seeking permanent part-timeDisability Support Worker Trainees to work with Acquired InjuryCommunity Support clients in Smithton

Anglicare provides innovative, flexible, person centred supportto people living with an acquired injury. The Acquired InjurySupport Service team are looking for people with a genuine desireto provide the best quality care for people with acquiredinjuries. This role will suit people who are interested indeveloping a new career by taking up a traineeship position. Theyalso seek people who are eager to learn and are motivated to workby the common values of hope, compassion, justice and respect. How does the traineeship work? If you are offered a traineeship you will be enrolled in theCertificate III Individual Support (Disability) course. Youwill be provided with guidance and support to complete therequirements of your qualification, including 120 hours of workplacement. As this is a hands on role, it is most suitable for activeindividuals who can perform manual handling duties. The Traineeshiprole is permanent part time position and workers must be willingand available to work a variety of shifts over a 24 hour period ifrequired. A copy of the Full PositionDescription

All Anglicare employees must have the following or willingnessto get: Australian Residency status or valid Australian workingrights A current provisional or full Australian Driver's Licenceand an insured, reliable motor vehicle A current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable Peopleregistration A National Police Check (Working with VulnerablePeoples)

IMPORTANT

Successful applicants are required to have an AnglicareTasmania assessed medical before commencement. On commencement successful applicants will be required toundertake our structured Safeguarding Children Trainingprogram.
