About the Role Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team, you will support 5 people with disability living in shared housing in Kirrawee, providing various supports including personal care and daily living.
The people you will be supporting require a range of support and so, successful candidates should be experienced and confident in working within a varied environment which may include high behaviours of concern (including high volume swearing), high medical needs and high intensity daily personal activities and heavy hoisting and manual handling.
The successful candidate must be able to commit to one of the set permanent part time rosters below:
64 hours per fortnight:Week 1: Mon 6am – 2:30pm, Tue 1-7:30pm, Wed 6 – 9:30am; 2-6pm, Fri 1-6pm and Sat 2 - 7:30pmWeek 2: Mon 2:30 – 8:30pm, Tue 6 – 9:30am; 2-6pm, Wed 2 – 7:30pm, Thu 2 – 8:30pm and Fri 2 -7:30pm57.5 hours per fortnight:Week 1: Wed 6am – 1pm, Sat 6:30am – 2pm and Sun 2 – 6pmWeek 2: Mon 6- 11:30am, Tue 3:30 – 8:30pm, Wed 2 – 6pm, Thu 6 – 9:30am; 2 -6pm, Fri 6am – 1pm and Sun 11pm – 9am (active night)Key Responsibilities Follow person-centred support and behaviour plansProvide assistance with High Intensity daily personal activitiesFacilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activitiesMaintain thorough record keepingBuild positive relationships with clients, families and colleaguesAdvocate for client choice and controlSkills & Experience Experience working with people with disabilityPrevious experience working with behaviours of concernPrior experience working with high medical needsConfidence in driving a wheelchair vanManual Handling and Hoisting experienceA current First Aid and CPR CertificateSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
