About the role We are looking to hire Disability Support Workers to assist the people we support across Rockhampton. We have permanent part time & casual positions available in both our Supported Independent Living homes and Lifestyle program. You will be a proactive and passionate support worker that is available to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including sleepovers and active nights. We are especially looking for candidates with availability to work sleepover shifts on Friday and Saturday evenings.
These roles require you to provide transport for clients, so a valid Australian Drivers Licence and access to your own reliable vehicle is essential. As a Disability Support Worker you will be able to make a lifelong positive impact to the lives of the people we support, helping them to maintain their independence and achieve their personal goals.
Key Responsibilities Day to day care (including personal care) and supervisionCommunity access and transportMaintain and monitor Person Centred PlansTrack and document an individual's progress through thorough record-keepingBuild rapport and collaborate effectively with the people we support and their families to establish positive relationshipsSkills & Experience Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and reliable vehicleCurrent Provide First Aid and CPR CertificatePrior experience in the industry supporting clients with challenging behaviours and/or relevant qualifications will be highly regardedTo be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
