Disability Support Worker | Permanent Part time Rostered Hours| Hunter Region NSW. Hourly rate based on SCHADS Award. Team based structure and an inclusive culture. Lifestyle Solutions are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our long standing, committed and self-managed team in the Hunter NSW area.
The clients we work with have Severe Intellectual Disability, Autism ( some non-verbal), whom present with complex and challenging behaviors.
To be considered for these opportunities, you will need the following;
As a Support Worker your responsibilities will include:
Mentoring and skill development – guiding customers to explore and develop their personal interests/hobbies. Coaching independent living skills such as cooking, domestic and social skills. Administering medication and adherence to individual support plans. Completing clear, concise and factual handover notes and incident reports. Providing personal care such as toileting, showering, feeding and dressing when required- standard * Provide a high level of care for these clients such as manual handling, peg feeding, catheter care, pressure area care. Diabetes knowledge a bonus. Helping customers engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities. Be willing to be work a variety of shifts. Versatile communication skills including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers Current driver's license (mandatory requirement) Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or be willing to obtain) Current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID003 Up to date Covid Vaccinations Current Medication Certification- If not we are happy to provide training through us as needed. Minimum Cert 3 or 4 in Disability Services or similar. Who we are and why we do it.
