Join Be Recruitment as a Casual Disability Support Worker in Newcastle's Maryland and Thornton area.
Responsibilities: Provide dedicated care and support to adults with intellectual disabilities and complex behavioural needs.
Foster capacity building and empower participants to lead fulfilling lives.
Implement individualised support plans, ensuring personalised care is delivered.
Promote independence, inclusion, and social participation within the community.
Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
Requirements: At least 12 months paid experience as a Disability Support Worker or AIN.
Experience providing personal care and willingness to provide personal care to people of all genders.
Experience in administering medication Demonstrated experience and understanding of intellectual disabilities and complex behavioural needs.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport.
Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach towards supporting individuals.
Flexibility to work on a casual basis, including shifts on weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights and sleepovers.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
The following checks and licenses are mandatory and certified copies will be required before an offer of employment.
Australian-issued driver's license.
Unrestricted working rights Certificate III or above in Disability Support or a related field.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Working with Children Check.
NDIS Worker Check.
Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History Check.
Evidence of vaccination or exemption from vaccination against COVID-19 Two professional references from a current and former supervisor.
