We are seeking a dedicated female support worker/therapy assistant to provide assistance to a person with a disability within their home and community. In this role, you will play a vital role in promoting the individual's independence, socialisation skills, and overall well-being. You will have the opportunity to work with young people in the disability industry, providing support work while also learning valuable skills in delivering a therapy program as a therapy assistant.
The role is located in Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast.
Responsibilities: Work a flexible schedule, including 2 overnight shifts per week and availability on weekendsEngage in morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shiftsFacilitate activities that promote independence and socialisationImplement therapy strategies to help achieve individual goalsProvide personal and domestic care as neededMaintain thorough case notes and communicate effectively with other staff members, the individual's family, and relevant stakeholdersRequirements: Experience working with young people in education, health or disability fieldsQualifications and experience relevant to the fieldAbility to adapt activities for different abilitiesDemonstrated ability to remain calm when dealing with challenging behavioursExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong teamwork and individual work abilitiesProfessional appearance and a non-smokerOpenness to feedback and a commitment to continuous improvementMandatory Requirements (to be completed before starting the role): Current NSW Working with Children CheckCurrent NDIS Workers CheckNDIS Workers Orientation ModuleCurrent First Aid and CPR CertificationsCurrent NSW Drivers LicenseIf you are excited about this opportunity and meet the qualifications, please submit your resume and a cover letter addressing the selection criteria.
