About us We are seeking bright, personality-rich Disability Support Workers to join our diverse team here at the Star Care Group!
Our team plays a crucial role in delivering care and support to the NDIS participants in their homes and out in the community across the Perth metro area & regional area.
Demand for our services has never been higher, and we are now expanding the team.
We know the difference a great client experience can make and help Disability Support Workers achieve this with ongoing training and mentorship.
Applicants with work experience in mental health, or relevant lived experience with a person with mental health challenges, will be highly regarded.
We are looking for reliable staff who can work with us for the long term and can maintain consistency with their work.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 6-months experience supporting people with disabilities Working with Children Check and proven experience working with children in the disability support sector Proof of COVID-19 vaccine as required under WA legislation Certificate III or higher in Disability, Individual Support, Youth Work, or recovery work in mental health, would be an advantage, or working towards obtaining qualification within 12 months Excellent driving skills and Current Valid Driver's License Reliable and roadworthy motor vehicle to travel to participant's homes and assist them in accessing the community, including comprehensive motor vehicle insurance and registration Proven experience with on-time and accurate reporting Current NDIS Worker Screening Check NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia (Citizenship or VISA) Police clearance less than 12-months-old First Aid, CPR & Manual Handling Experience and willingness to support people with a disability Tasks & responsibilities Support individuals with a range of activities, such as pick-up and drop-off from school, assisting to maintain their homes (domestic assistance), accessing the community, and attending appointments (social support) Support individuals to achieve and meet their goals as specified in their NDIS plan On-time incident reporting within guidelines and regulations governed by the NDIS Provide regular case notes and communicate with the Service Coordinator about the health, well-being, and progress of the individual Work collaboratively with the individual and the disability services team and provide the support that best meets the individual's needs Teaching real life practical life skills such as cooking, cleaning, effective communication, and assisting to manage challenging behavior Supporting to establish and maintain relationships and interests in community activities, venues, and services Supporting fitness, and assisting with social, and confidence-building activities Medication administration duties Passion for providing person-centered and active support and maintaining consistency Benefits: Permanent part-time position with full access to leave entitlements, guaranteed weekly hours AND an attractive pay rate Ongoing training and development to keep your skills growing Long-term employment opportunities Meaningful employment where you are making a difference to our participants and their families Ongoing support from our team Full-time contracts are possible with sustained performance Are you ready to apply?
