JOIN LANGFORD SUPPORT SERVICES AS A DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with complex needs? Langford Support Services is looking for dedicated experienced Disability Support Workers to join our passionate team. This rewarding position works with our participants to support them to reach their goals and live their best lives. Langford's way of working puts the participant at the center of their own supports and services, enabling them to make informed choices, exercise control and maximise their independence. We help participants to navigate their NDIS plan, identify goals and aspirations and design supports that involve the right people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION: Provide high-quality support to participants with complex needs.Collaborate effectively with participants, their families and health professionals.Adhere to relevant policies and legislation.Provide person-centered support to participants that are tailored to their individual needs and goals.Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility support, meal preparation and household tasks.Support clients in accessing community services and participating in social and recreational activities.Implement individualised care plans and support strategies.Foster a safe, respectful and empowering environment for clients.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE POSITION: Knowledge of person-centred and active support practices.The ability to work as an effective member of a team.The ability to build and maintain relationships.The ability to remain calm, problem solve and demonstrate good judgment in a range of situations.A positive attitude and acceptance of diversity.Resilience, flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.Good communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in disability support.Ability to work well in a team and maintain a positive and fun attitude.Motivated, reliable and solutions-focused individuals who can think on their feet.Sensitivity and respect when working with participants and their families.WHAT WE OFFER: Competitive casual hourly salary rates.Access to a 24/7 on-call support line.Access to our online system via a phone app.Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.A supportive and collaborative values-driven team environment.The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of participants.If you are flexible, resilient and passionate about providing exceptional support to participants, we want to hear from you!
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: You must have the right to live and work in Australia.A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or similar qualification or a willingness to undertake it.Previous experience in a disability support role is highly desirable.Current First Aid and CPR certification.NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.NDIS Worker Orientation Module.ALL other NDIS / online modules.National Police Check (less than six (6) months old).Relevant industry qualifications.100 points of identification.Flexibility to work various shifts (and sleepovers), including weekends and public holidays.Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care is advantageous.Knowledge of the NDIS and the Quality and Safeguarding Framework and ideally experience working within the framework.Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration with an NDIS endorsement.Desirable but not essential: Nationally accredited Medication training certificate (desirable).Please note: The above requirements are based on participant-specific support.
