We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, promoting independence, inclusion, and overall well-being. This role involves working closely with participants and their families to assist with daily activities, personal care, and participation in community and recreational activities, while upholding respect and dignity in every interaction.
Key Responsibilities: Personal Support: Assist clients with personal care tasks such as dressing, bathing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring they are comfortable and safe at all times.Community Engagement: Facilitate and encourage participation in community, social, and recreational activities, fostering clients' independence and social skills.Household Assistance: Assist with light household tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping, to maintain a safe and organized environment for clients.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and any changes in clients' health or behavior, ensuring effective communication with the care team.Advocacy and Emotional Support: Provide emotional support, companionship, and advocacy for clients, respecting their choices and preferences while promoting a positive, empowering environment.Qualifications: Current First Aid and CPR certification.Valid driver's license and reliable transport (if required for the role).Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.Key Skills and Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to follow individual care plans and work independently or as part of a team.Good physical health and ability to perform manual handling.Commitment to maintaining clients' privacy, dignity, and respect at all times. #J-18808-Ljbffr
