Opportunity As a Disability Support Worker you play an important part in our customer's lives as you empower our customers' independence and help them achieve their individual goals. You will have the opportunity to support our customers across various locations in Perth Metro Area while you benefit from a permanent part-time contract with consistent shifts.
About the Role As a Disability Support Worker you will:
Provide active support focusing on maximising engagement and participation in the customer's daily life. Promote community inclusion by taking the customers to appointments and activities, supporting them in connecting with family and friends. Support customers with their daily living needs - such as cleaning, washing, ironing, meal planning, meal preparation, cooking and personal administration (e.g. shopping, banking, paying bills). Support customers with their personal care needs, such as bathing, toileting, grooming and hoisting (this includes customers with high care needs). Undertake report writing, shift notes, incident reports and advocate for the customer. About You Comfortable with and willingness to undertake both residential and community-based activities. Comfortable driving wheelchair accessible vans (e.g. Toyota Hiace). Adaptable communication skills and a strong focus on person-centred care. A Certificate III or IV in a caring discipline is highly desirable. Willingness to work in different locations and change locations on short notice within the Perth Metro Area (max. 30 minutes radius). Willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance no older than 6 months, Current Driver's Licence, NDIS Worker's Orientation Module, NDIS Worker Screening check, Current First Aid Training Certificate (HLTAID011 minimum), COVID-19 Vaccination (min. 2 doses). Availability Requirements To ensure the best match we ask that you can commit to a minimum of 3 shifts per week. As most of our shifts are on weekdays, availability between Monday-Friday in the following time frames is required: Morning Shifts – 6:00AM – 4:00PM. Afternoon Shifts - 1:00PM – 11:00PM. If you are selected for the position, before commencing in the role, there will be a mandatory Orientation & Induction program that runs for 7 full days (Mon-Fri).
