About the Role As a Disability Support Worker working in Supported Independent Living (SIL), you will be supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance.
You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
Key Responsibilities Availability for sleepover shifts is requiredAssist clients in daily personal care routines, including bathing, shaving, and toiletingActively support clients of high behaviours of concern and advocate for clients choice and independenceFacilitate goal attainment through meaningful client-chosen activities and encourage community participation which may include 1 on 1 support within the communityTrack and document the changing needs of clients through thorough record-keepingFoster positive relationships with clients, families, and fellow team membersFollow person-centred active support plans and behavioural support plans respectfullySkills & Experience Experience with behaviour supports including restrictive practicesHold an unrestricted New South Wales driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicleWillingness to drive a company van where required for transportationCommitted to work flexibly throughout the week, including public holidaysDemonstrated competency in basic technology usage on mobile and desktop platformsA current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 or willingness to obtainSuccessful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
