Selection Criteria (Essential)Certificate III/IV in Disability Studies or Certificate IV in Ageing SupportWorking with Mental Health ExperienceExperience in Challenging BehaviourPrevious experience in the aged care and disability fields in a comparable positionCurrent Drivers' LicenseCurrent insurance on the private vehicle (to be used for work purposes)Right to work in AustraliaCurrent Police CheckDemonstrated skills supporting and caring for adults with complex support needsGood verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation, problem-solving, and the ability to communicate effectively as a member of the teamAbility and willingness to work in a diverse range of settings, including but not limited to a person's home or place of residence, other services, community groups, and other community settingsGeneral awareness of health & safety issuesCurrent First Aid Certificate and CPR CertificatePersonal Requirements of a Disability Support WorkerPatient, flexible, and understandingProactiveSupportive and caring natureCommitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified livesAble to accept responsibilityAble to work as part of a teamAble to cope with the physical demands of the jobAble to perform domestic duties efficientlyAble to cope under pressureApplications required ASAP, and should include:
