About the Role Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team as a casual in Arncliffe, you will support people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
The people we support are looking for engaging disability support workers who are passionate about providing active support and getting involved in their daily activities including sport, going to the movies and the pub.
The successful candidate will also have experience in following behaviour support plans, providing personal care, stoma care and manual handling and will have availability to commit to sleepover shifts and short shifts of 3 or 4 hours each week.
Key Responsibilities Follow support plansActively engage in clients goalsProvide personal care, stoma care and manual handlingFoster positive relationships with clients, families and teamAdvocate for client choice and controlAssist in household chores (cooking and cleaning)Maintain thorough documentation and record-keepingSkills & Experience Experience with personal care and stoma careAbility to complete regular manual handlingConfidence in driving a wheelchair vanCommitment to work sleepover shifts and short, 3 or 4 hour shifts.A current First Aid and CPR certificateSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
