Workplace Training & Assessment (Education & Training) Casual/Vacation The Compass Institute is a South East Queensland Charity dedicated to providing support for people with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. Compass uses an innovative further education model that enables young people with a disability to make a smooth transition from school to an increasingly independent future. Our programs promote physical, mental and emotional well-being empowering these young people to take up opportunities as they arise.
Starting in 2003 with 3 Trainees, the organisation now employs 100 specialist staff, providing post school education, training and vocational opportunities to over 170 Trainees at 5 locations from Caboolture to Gympie. In addition to the Compass campuses, we have a diverse range of social enterprises including Compass Farm (a 20-acre organic farm), Connections Cafés, Garden Café, Harvest Kitchen and Rakes & Panes.

We support our Trainees (Participants with Disabilities) in our Gympie Centre in the following ways:
Creation and delivery of diverse development programs, exploring a wide variety of life skills, social and community based activities, craft and sport in line with Trainee goals.Personal Care, food preparation and behavioural managementActive communication to provide feedback to families and other stakeholders such as OT's and Compass leadersYou will work great hours - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm.Working as a Disability Support Trainer is rewarding, knowing that you are supporting young people with disabilities to develop confidence and independence.
What are the requirements to become a Disability Support Worker at Compass?
