This is a great opportunity for an experienced carer who is looking to improve and enhance existing skills or looking for a career change. Proven and previous experience of working in a similar role would be highly regarded.Having experience of assisting people with a disability to live in their home or in a supported independent living arrangement that is individualised and flexible will be important. Being experienced, you will provide domestic assistance, meal preparation, personal care, social and community participation, behaviour support, therapeutic activities and a range of individualised services and supports.Being caring and patient, you will be able to build rapport, find common ground and develop a connection with clients.Responsibilities include:Mentoring.Assistance with daily living tasks such as personal care, preparation of meals and other general household tasks.Responding to the client's needs and collaborating positively with their families, support people and others in their lives.Daily reporting and administration (medication charts etc), reporting any observed changes to the client's health and incidents through the Shift Care system.Promoting independence, giving choice, encouraging inclusiveness and respecting the rights and privacy of an individual with a disability through planning and creating opportunities.Balancing your Duty of Care with the right of the client working within the context of their ability.Working within the NDIS Code of Conduct.Providing Community Participation to clients by providing transport, assisting them on social outings, shopping etc.Being proactive to continually educate yourself on the specific needs of participants and conditions.Essential:Life experience.The right to work in Australia.Relevant work experience.A current police check.Current first aid and CPR certificate.WWVP card.An Unrestricted Drivers License.A reliable car with comprehensive insurance.A strong work ethic, a positive outlook and the ability to remain calm and professional while under pressure.A caring and empathetic nature.Completed the NDIS worker orientation module.NDIS covid 19 infection control module.Shift and Work Times:Work times and shifts will be on a 24-7 roster over a short term.
