Help people with disability lead their best lifeDiverse and inclusive cultureEnhancing the social and community living skills of clientsAbout the BusinessOur Disability Services team support people with disability to lead their best life, at home and in the community.
They provide supported independent living to more than 500 people through a range of disability and aged care funding packages, including the NDIS.

Role DetailsAbout the RoleAssisting and supporting people living with a disability in all aspects of daily living, including but not limited to community inclusion, personal care, building and maintaining independence as well as interpersonal relationshipsNumerous intakes in 2025Roles are available in Mount GambierAbout YouExperience and knowledge of disability, mental health and/or positive behaviour supportExperience working in the area of complex behaviour support with people who need a stable and committed team around themCommitted to following Positive Behaviour Support Plans and able to demonstrate your experience working with behaviours of concernWilling to learn new skills and adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of the person you supportHave a good understanding of person-centred practiceHold a current South Australian Driver's LicenseHave working entitlements to work within AustraliaMust be flexible to work over a 7-day, 24-hour roster period including short shifts (minimum 3 hours)Hold a current 'Provide First Aid Certificate'Possess intermediate IT skills and knowledgeCertificate III Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent is desiredHow do I Apply?Complete the application formAttach an up-to date CV/Resume that includes the names, addresses and contact phone numbers of three (3) current referees, one being your current line manager/supervisorAttach a comprehensive cover letter of up to two (2) pages addressing the Role Specific Capabilities located in the Role DescriptionAttach a copy of your passport and working eligibility visa for those who are not Australian CitizensAppointment is subject to:
Current, full, C Class Australian drivers' licenceA current Certificate in Provide First AidA satisfactory Disability Services Screening Assessment conducted by the Department, or a current NDIS Worker CheckDemonstrate to our satisfaction that you are physically capable of carrying out all the duties of the position which may be at your own expenseCompulsory attendance at an Induction/Training Program, Mentoring and other relevant training deemed necessary by the departmentSpecial ConditionsNational Police Check required.Employment-related Screening Check required.Some out of hours work may be required.Must hold a current Australian issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C).Enquiries to Disability Recruitment Team

Screening ChecksIf you are new to the department and are invited to an interview, you will be required to produce a National Police Check, which has been issued within six months of your application for the role.
National Police Checks can be applied for via the South Australia Police or through an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission accredited body.
If the role you are applying for also requires an Employment-related Screening Check, you will be required to undergo such assessment as is advised by DHS, including periodic assessment during your employment.
