About the Business Our Disability Services team support people with disability to lead their best life, at home and in the community. They provide supported independent living to more than 500 people through a range of disability and aged care funding packages, including the NDIS. Disability Services is a high quality, rights-based service with a person-centred philosophy of "Everything about you, with you".
Role Details About the Role Assisting and supporting people living with a disability in all aspects of daily living, including but not limited to community inclusion, personal care, building and maintaining independence as well as interpersonal relationships Numerous intakes in 2025 Roles are available in Kadina & Moonta About You Experience and knowledge of disability, mental health and/or positive behaviour support Experience working in the area of complex behaviour support with people who need a stable and committed team around them Committed to following Positive Behaviour Support Plans and able to demonstrate your experience working with behaviours of concern Willing to learn new skills and adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of the person you support Have a good understanding of person-centred practice Hold a current South Australian Driver's License Have working entitlements to work within Australia Must be flexible to work over a 7-day, 24-hour roster period including short shifts (minimum 3 hours) Hold a current 'Provide First Aid Certificate' Possess intermediate IT skills and knowledge Certificate III Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent is desired How do I Apply? Complete the application form Attach an up-to date CV/Resume that includes the names, addresses and contact phone numbers of three (3) current referees, one being your current line manager/supervisor Attach a comprehensive cover letter of up to two (2) pages addressing the Role Specific Capabilities located in the Role Description Attach a copy of your passport and working eligibility visa for those who are not Australian Citizens Appointment is subject to: Current, full, C Class Australian drivers' licence A current Certificate in Provide First Aid A satisfactory Disability Services Screening Assessment conducted by the Department, or a current NDIS Worker Check Demonstrate to our satisfaction that you are physically capable of carrying out all the duties of the position which may be at your own expense Compulsory attendance at an Induction/Training Program, Mentoring and other relevant training deemed necessary by the department Special Conditions National Police Check required. Employment-related Screening Check required. Some out of hours work may be required. Must hold a current Australian issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C). Screening Checks If you are new to the department and are invited to an interview, you will be required to produce a National Police Check, which has been issued within six months of your application for the role. National Police Checks can be applied for via the South Australia Police or through an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission accredited body. If the role you are applying for also requires an Employment-related Screening Check, you will be required to undergo such assessment as is advised by DHS, including periodic assessment during your employment.
