An opportunity now exists for a motivated professional to join our dedicated Social Work team as the Disability Liaison Officer. If you have excellent interpersonal skills and have a strong commitment to improving outcomes for people with disabilities this is your chance! An extension of the contract after completion date will be considered at 0.3 EFT.
The position: 6-month Fixed-Term contract. 40.0 hours per fortnight with estimated completion 30.06.2025.
In this role, you will champion and support health service access for people with disability across health services in East Gippsland by addressing barriers such as fear, uncertainty and accessibility issues. You will provide coordination for referrals and initial assessments of non-admitted (not inpatient) clients to various BRHS programs.
The role considers intersectionality identities, including LGBTQIA+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and CALD.

Key selection criteria:
Minimum 2 years' experience in Aged Care or Disability services or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to identify barriers of individuals with disability and explore issues beyond to develop mitigating strategies using a client centred approach.
Demonstrated strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise competing demands.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills in calm and planned situations to highly emotive and stressful situations.
