TAFE Gippsland is seeking a dedicated Disability & Access Advisor based at our Bairnsdale Campus to support and empower students with disabilities.
As the key point of contact for both enrolled and prospective students, you will provide essential support, guidance, and resources to ensure students thrive in their studies and beyond.
In this rewarding role, you will build strong relationships with students and internal and external stakeholders including service providers to deliver individualised assistance to the students.
You will advocate for students' needs, offer strength-based coaching, coordinate reasonable adjustments, and guide them through referrals to access the support and life skills they need to succeed.

Your Experience and Qualifications A tertiary or further education qualification in a disability or community related disciplineExperience in the provision of support services to people with a disability, preferably in an education settingDemonstrated commitment and experience in person-centred practiceFamiliarity with best practice models for disability support within an educational context (e.g.
planning, case management, information provision, strengths-based coaching, reasonable adjustments, mental health first aid, mediation, conflict resolution, and supported referral)Underpinning knowledge of the NDIS and other supports available to people with a disabilityAll TAFE Gippsland staff require a current Drivers Licence, employee Working with Children Clearance, satisfactory National Police Check, and Current Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate (2 doses).
