The Role Evaluating clients' requirements and designing, developing, and executing educational, training, and support initiatives.Conducting client interviews to determine the nature and scope of their difficulties.Tracking and documenting clients' progressEvaluating community needs and available resources related to health, welfare, housing, employment, training, and other services.Coordinating with community groups, welfare agencies, government entities, and private businesses to address community issues and promote awareness of available resources and services.Directing clients to organizations that offer additional assistance.Providing support to families and offering education and care for children and disabled individuals in adult service units, group homes, and government institutions.Writing funding and resource proposals and reports for government bodies and other organizations.Coordinates community development projects and collaborative solutions to tackle issues, needs, and challenges related to recreation, health, housing, employment, and other welfare concerns.Supervising individuals on probation and parole.Helping young people address social, emotional, and financial challenges.Provides services across various units that offer education and community access for individuals with intellectual, physical, social, and emotional disabilities.Relevant Qualifications and Skills to be eligible for this role At least a Diploma in Community Services qualification or similar required for this role.
At least 2 years of industry experience as a Disabilities Services Officer or preferably in disability, mental health, or aged care settings.
Ability to develop and maintain professional, supportive relationships with clients.
Strong knowledge of the NDIS and disabilities in Australia.
Current First Aid certificate.
Manual Handling certificate.
Current Australian Driver's Licence (preferred).
Good customer service skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Proficient in administrative and case management skills.
Outstanding communication and writing abilities.
