About the role We are currently seeking an experienced Disabilities Services Officer to work with us on a full-time basis. The role entails providing support, information and advice to clients on emotional, financial, recreational, health, housing and other social welfare matters, and evaluate and coordinate the services of welfare and community service agencies.
Duties include but are not limited to: Assessing clients' needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs in line with the NDIS practice standards and organisational policies and proceduresInterviewing clients and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties to support each client in maximizing their choice and controlMonitoring and reporting on the progress of clients in line with regulatory standards and industry practicesAssist clients in accessing appropriate and timely referrals to agencies that can provide additional help in achieving best outcomesAssessing community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and servicesLiaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and servicesSupporting families and providing education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutionsAssisting clients including the youth, elderly and people living with disability to solve social, emotional and financial problemsPreparing submissions for funding and resources, and reports to government bodies and other agenciesEssential criteria: Experience working in an aged care facility, in-home, or as a community Support WorkerHolds relevant qualifications or is working towards (Cert III or IV in Individual Support or equivalent)Two years of work experience in a community setting (Aged care, disability)NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)Current Police Check (or willing to obtain)Fully Vaccinated for COVID-19 and Seasonal InfluenzaHas flexible availability and commitment to an ongoing rosterHas a caring nature, loves to engage with people, and possesses a 'can do' attitudePreferred but not essential criteria: Experience working with people living with functional or mental disabilityCurrent First Aid & CPR TrainingDriver's license & fully insured carExperience with Manual HandlingExperience with Medication AssistanceUnderstanding of person-centered approach, choice and control, and NDIS practice standardsTo apply, please send your CV and details to: ******
