About us:
The Rockhampton Hospital has four operating theatres and two procedure rooms. The operating theatre complex is supported by a 6 bed Intensive Care Unit/High Dependency Unit (ICU/HDU). The Department is accredited for specialist training and is heavily involved in teaching and research. The Department encompasses surgical specialities: General Surgery, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Urology and Ophthalmology teams and has a workforce of approximately 35 medical staff.
About the role:
To provide, develop and maintain an efficient, effective, ethical, and confidential secretarial and administrative support service to the Clinical Director and other Departmental Staff. This position operates with a high degree of independence in performing the duties of the position while maintaining open channels of communication between all staff within the department and other members of multidisciplinary teams.
About you: Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: While not mandatory, experience working within a health care setting will be well regarded.
Demonstrated high level of proficiency in clerical, secretarial and administrative duties and support, keyboard and contemporary word processing and spreadsheet skills appropriate to the position.Demonstrated problem solving skills, and the ability to perform duties on a day-to-day basis in the absence of decision makers using time management skills.The ability to establish work priorities and meet deadlines when work priorities conflict.
