Details of the offer

Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate (CMTEDD) is seeking to create a merit pool of highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to undertake our Directorate Liaison Officer roles with one role available immediately and others from 30 November 2024. These DLO roles span a range of portfolios including Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development.
Directorate Liaison Officers are a critical role for effective management of information between Directorates and Minister's Offices. Located physically within a Minister's Office, DLOs are responsible for facilitating delivery of a significant program of government business, strategically coordinating actions within CMTEDD with other directorates or ministerial offices.
As a DLO you will need to bring to the role: leadership in exercising sound judgement; an ability to maintain effective relationships through a responsive approach; excellent communication and negotiation skills; a sound understanding of government process; and a high level of organisation.
If you are someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys managing relationships, this is a role for you.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
Experience with digital records management systems is highly desirable.
Experience and understanding of ACT Government Cabinet, Assembly, and machinery of government processes would be desirable.
This position may require the successful applicant to either hold or be able to obtain a baseline security clearance.
Notes:
There are several full-time temporary positions available with one position available immediately and others from 30 November 2024 for a period of 18 months, with the possibility of extension.
This process will establish a merit pool for 12 months, and roles may become available throughout this period. Offers will be made for immediate vacancies and in the lead up to 30 November following the settlement of ministerial portfolio arrangements after the 2024 ACT Election.
Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office-based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
These positions are open to existing ACTPS staff.
Directorate Liaison Officer roles include a DLO Allowance, which is 7% of the fortnightly rate of pay for the employee's classification calculated on ordinary hours worked in that fortnight, paid fortnightly in arrears. It is not paid during leave and does not count as salary, except for super.
How to Apply:
To apply, applicants are required to submit the following:
A two-page written response addressing the Professional/Technical Skills and Knowledge and Behavioural Capabilities, having regard for the job requirements;
A current curriculum vitae with the names and contact details of two referees (one should be a current Supervisor/Manager). Please ensure you submit all required items.
