About the Role
The purpose of this role is to lead two important functions of the department.
Working Places: Leads the delivery of the department's accommodation strategies, projects, and services to ensure our workplaces are sustainable, healthy, connected, culturally inclusive, and fit for purpose. This includes using data related to occupancy and workspace usage to inform evidence-based planning and decisions on accommodation leasing and capital improvements.Environmental Sustainability: Leads department-wide reforms to mitigate and adapt to climate change and reduce the department's environmental impacts. This includes developing and responding to environmental strategies, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to build capacity to deliver on environmental commitments, enabling stakeholders to take environmental action, and ensuring appropriate governance for the department to meet its environmental obligations.Attributes
This role has a strong focus on collaboration and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The role engages with senior executives and staff across the department, works closely with other government departments, and is a member of internal and interdepartmental governance groups and committees. The role is also the key executive contact with the Accommodation, Carpool & Library Services (ACLS). The role is outcomes-focused with the key objective to develop and deliver strategies, projects, and services that align with departmental and broader policy and best-practice to achieve tangible benefits for our staff. The role will drive a culture of reform and continuous improvement across the department through a strong focus on change management and stakeholder engagement. The role will suit a person who is stakeholder-focused with experience in program delivery, organisational change, and strategic planning.
