About the boardThe Victorian Rail Track Corporation (VicTrack) is a public entity established under the Transport Integration Act 2010 and is the custodial owner of rail-related transport land, infrastructure, and assets in Victoria.
Our purpose is to enhance Victoria's rail transport assets to safely connect people, places and opportunities. We are an asset business which manages and commercialises transport-related property and telecommunications assets for transport and government customers.

About the roleThis is a paid, part-time, Victorian Government appointment based in Melbourne. Candidates can be appointed for terms of up to three years and are eligible for re-appointment. The VicTrack Board meets bi-monthly at the VicTrack offices in Docklands. Additional Board meetings, strategy and other briefing sessions will be called as and when required. Board members are also expected to sit on one or more of the Board's sub-committees. Each sub-committee typically meets on a quarterly basis however, additional meetings will be called as and when required. Hybrid arrangements may be organised by request.
Who we're looking forWe are specifically looking for a person with a deep understanding of the Victorian rail network. Expertise and experience in this area of knowledge as well as a strong understanding of the workings of government, assets, asset management and risk management will be highly regarded. Individuals keen to bring these skills and experience to help VicTrack continue to effectively manage Victoria's transport assets and meet Victoria's transport goals should apply.
Previous Board experience is not essential. What is more important is a passion for sustainable development, integrity, and organisational performance. Applications from Victorian Traditional Owners and emerging and community leaders are strongly encouraged. Demonstrable corporate governance skills, an ability to think strategically and analytically and experience working influentially and collaboratively with senior management, stakeholders and government will also be viewed favourably.
