About the role In this role, you will lead and develop strategic plans and initiatives to support the Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Chief Financial Officer by leading budget development and allocation, monitoring and analysis, strategic financial planning and analysis, and financial management transformation for the Department of Education and related entities within the Education Cluster. This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on the direction and outcomes for the NSW Department of Education through the strategic allocation of budget to achieve our key goals including Our Plan for NSW Public Education. About you You will be an accomplished people leader, relationship builder, problem solver and possess strong acumen in numbers. You will have experience in delivering budgets in large and complex organisations. Our ideal candidate will have experience in leading large teams through significant change. Your role is crucial in delivering operational efficiencies and effectively leading financial planning, budgeting and strategic financial management. Experience working within NSW Government will be favourable but not essential. This role requires a motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys having a broad role and thrives when given autonomy and responsibility. The ideal candidate will possess strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing successful operational improvements. To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management of a large team in a complex organisation. Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as finance, business, management, and/or equivalent knowledge and experience.
