Director, Shareholder Policy and Markets (722225)Full time
$178,528 to $205,151 pro rata per annum plus super
As soon as possible for a period of up to 5 years.
The Department of Treasury and Finance is seeking a Director to head up the Shareholder Policy and Markets branch.In this role you will have a focus on leading a branch to provide strategic direction and high level policy advice on the State's interest in the Government-owned business sector.You will work in a diverse, inclusive and supportive workplace with a strong values-based team and flexible, high-performance culture.About YouYou will have a proven track record in effectively leading, managing and motivating a professional team across a diverse range of policy related issues.
You will be a motivated, capable and creative individual with sound judgement combined with strong analytical and communication skills. Your success requires the ability to lead policy research and analysis on complex issues; define and develop recommendations; clearly articulate difficult technical issues to stakeholders; and demonstrate leadership and initiative in a team environment.

About the BranchAs part of the Economic and Financial Policy Division, the Shareholder Policy and Markets Branch manages the State's interest in the Government-owned business sector and ensures a strong governance regime. Specifically:
Ownership: advising on strategic business issues including investment, divestment, diversification opportunities and restructuring issues;Performance Monitoring: reporting on Corporate and Business Plans, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports and performance against targets;Governance: advising on improvements to corporate governance, including director appointments, inductions, director training and governance best practice.The Branch also manages the State's relationship with international credit rating agencies. The policy issues addressed by the Branch are inherently complex involving multiple stakeholders with a range of perspectives. Policy development needs to be theoretically sound leading to workable and best practice outcomes.

Highly Desirable RequirementsCompletion of relevant tertiary or industry qualifications, and/or professional affiliation.
