Director - Securitisation Group, Specialised Products Department, Asia PacificCorporate Finance & Investment Banking (Banking & Financial Services)Full timeSMBC is a major international bank with a leading position in the Australian Corporate and Project Finance markets.
Due to continued growth, a new opportunity has become available within our Specialised Products Department, Asia Pacific ("SPDA") in the Sydney Branch.
This is a newly created position to promote Fund-related business with a securitisation and structured finance approach including marketing, origination, and distribution.Primary Responsibilities:Promote securitisation and structured finance related business including marketing, origination, and distribution.Achieve financial & non-financial performance targets in accordance with the company's risk management and compliance policies and standards.Manage closing and ongoing processes on respective transactions.Coordinate with branch, other officers of SPDA, related departments of SMBC Head Office, and other branches or SMBC group companies to provide value-added services to clients.Research market laws & regulations in related business areas and provide necessary information to relevant parties.Undertake other tasks assigned by the management, including new project, new product development, and process improvement.Analyze credit risk in underlying assets and structure of the transactions and apply credit monitoring and application.Monitor the portfolio and take necessary actions on potential deterioration of credit.Plan coordination with SPDA for expense and other budgeting and internal reporting.Assist SPDA / SMBC Sydney branch with business planning from a structured finance perspective.To succeed in this role, you will have:Minimum of 7-10 years' new business origination experience within Securitisation.Experience working within a Structured Finance or Corporate Finance Origination team, ideally with a Bank or Financial Institution.Good knowledge of financial products and ability to interpret financial statements.High level of numeracy and strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to conduct financial modeling.Good communicator, both verbally and in writing, along with strong time management skills.Influencing skills both in writing through presenting a persuasive argument and verbally when handling objections.Ability to condense complex issues into a readable format in report writing or through other communications.Tertiary qualification in a business-related field.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and proactive individual who is methodical and enjoys working in a diverse and friendly team environment.
