An exciting opportunity exists for a Director Safety and Wellbeing to be accountable for providing expert advice to senior executives, senior managers, and staff within the SCHHS to ensure that they are fully informed of, and compliant with, Work Health & Safety (WHS), Workers Compensation and other applicable legislation, Code of Practices and relevant Australian and International Standards.The Director of Safety and Wellbeing is a critical professional leadership role that provides authoritative strategic health and safety, respiratory protection fit testing, occupational violence, rehabilitation, injury management and wellbeing (including psychosocial) direction and advice to senior executives, senior managers and staff in the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) to ensure a continued commitment to safe systems of work and compliance with relevant legislation.Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions.Key Responsibilities include:Inculcate a strong culture of performance, client service and continuous improvement within the team and the wider Hospital and Health Service related to all facets of safety and wellbeing.Provide leadership and direction to the SCHHS Safety and Wellbeing team inclusive of fostering and encouraging a workplace environment that is outcomes focused and instils a culture of continuous improvement through effective communication, training, and contemporary workforce management practices.Develop, implement, and review the SCHHS Safety and Wellbeing Strategic Plan as a key element of the organisation's workforce strategy.Remuneration value up to $208,619 p.a., comprising salary between $169,261 - $182,579 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HSO).
