The Director of Responsible AI and Capability at Optus is a new leadership role that will own the development and implementation of responsible AI practices across the organisation. This role is pivotal in embedding RAI principles that mitigate risk and build trust, ensuring our AI initiatives are ethical, transparent, and aligned with our values. The Director will devise and implement risk assessment workflows, controls, monitoring, training and AI literacy initiatives that enable our organisation to safely implement AI at scale.
Your day in the life at Optus Develop and implement a whole of Optus RAI policy and governance processes that guide the responsible evaluation and scaling of AI use cases, fostering trust and confidence in our AI solutions.Align RAI governance with existing business objectives and processes, ensuring alignment with Data Governance, Regulatory, Compliance and other relevant internal stakeholders.Regularly review and update Optus' RAI policy and procedures to align with regulatory requirements and reflect new developments in AI ethics and legislation.Design and implement programs to enhance AI literacy and skills for current and future members of the team here at Optus.Develop and implement strategies to enhance Optus' reputation as a trusted adopter and provider of AI solutions. This includes engagement with internal collaborators within Optus, public relations efforts, participation in industry forums, and thought leadership activities.Your skills to pay the bills Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in related field - Master's of Data Science preferred.Knowledge of measuring and monitoring accuracy and bias of AI/ML predictive model complimented by a solid understanding of AI technologies and ethical considerations.Significant experience in data governance within a large, sophisticated organisation undergoing significant change.Deep Technical AI & Data Science skills, such as LLM design considerations, bias/variance trade-offs and covariant shift.Previous experience with ISO compliance and capability development - experience implementing and automating ISO risk management standards (e.g. ISO27001, ISO42001).You bring together a blend of data science, risk management and controls through your background, expertise and or study.Perks we love at Optus 3 days in the office, 2 days remote – with flexible hours to suit.Inclusive paid parental leave, up to 14 weeks for the primary care giver.Executive level remuneration and incentives - STI & LTI.
