The Consumer and Industrials group (C&I) is responsible for high quality origination and delivery of best-in-class customer sales propositions for our client base. 
The role is based in Melbourne and will report to the Executive Director, Head of Consumer & Industrials, VIC & TAS.
As a Relationship Manager you will be responsible for driving strategic engagement and proactive, advice-led business origination with Westpac's key institutional clients. You will develop, manage, and deepen relationships within a portfolio of private and publicly listed clients in the Consumer & Industrials sector. 
To be successful in the role, you will need to work well in a team environment, co-ordinating Analysts, Credit, Legal, Transactional Services, Debt Markets, Financial Markets and Compliance.
Core responsibilities include:
Developing a trusted adviser style relationship at the Treasurer/CFO/ CEO level with clients. Deepening internal and external relationships with a focus on servicing customers through Debt Markets, Global Transaction Banking Solutions, and Financial Markets. Be a thought leader for the sector and provide unique insights into market and industry conditions impacting the Bank and its clients, in partnership with the Consumer Insights and Analytics team. Utilise your corporate finance knowledge, research and analytical capabilities to deliver strategic account plans and client proposals. In conjunction with Credit and Product Partners, developing and implementing portfolio optimisation strategies and enhancements based on internal/external market dynamics.Contributing to a high-performance team. Maintaining global view connectivity, including Asia & Northern Hemisphere. Ensure client's total financing, risk and transactional management needs are anticipated, directly discussed, and participated in as appropriate. Effective engagement of key stakeholders across Risk, Product Business Development, Consumer Insights and Analytics, Client and Debt Service and group segments. Effectively identify and manage portfolio risks, striking the right balance between risk and reward.What's in it for me? What do I need? To be successful you will have the following: 
Degree qualified – preferably business, finance or accounting. Experience in the Agricultural and / or Consumer sector would be advantageous.Experience in Corporate Finance / Strategic Sales / Relationship Management.Finance/banking experience, highly developed networking skill and a proven ability to develop relationships at senior levels both internally and externally.The ability to successfully lead internal deal teams comprising product specialists, research analysts, credit officers and senior executives. As well as strong marketing skills you will require a disciplined approach to achieve set financial targets, whilst maintaining Westpac's high credit standards.Exceptional interpersonal skills (oral and written) and ability to build a strong rapport with clients and work colleagues.Project management skills and credit experience is desirable.What is it like to work there?
