Public Service Senior Executive, Band 1
· Take a lead role working with industry and policy makers to secure safe and reliable energy services for NSW customers
· Lead a team of specialists to drive a strategic approach to regulation and compliance through best practice regulation, proactive compliance and stakeholder engagement

About the role
We are looking for a senior executive to lead regulatory and compliance oversight of NSW gas and electricity networks.
You will be responsible for leading a specialist team to identify, regulate and secure good outcomes for NSW energy consumers.
To do this you will work with external stakeholders including industry, policy makers and consumers to assess and make recommendations on operating licence conditions necessary to secure critical safety and reliability outcomes and to secure compliance with those conditions.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Regulation & Compliance you will be a key member of the divisional leadership team, and will promote a culture of strategic leadership, accountability and cross-organisational collaboration.
This role is located in IPART's Regulation & Compliance Division which oversees the regulation of public and private water utilities and energy networks in NSW and is responsible for the administration and regulation of the Energy Security Safeguard schemes.
This is a full time temporary 12-month opportunity in a recently vacated ongoing role.

About you
We are looking for a strong leader with strategic vision and the ability to guide and influence a team to deliver robust outcomes.
You will:

have strong experience in regulation and compliance or risk management and be outcomes focussed
be comfortable challenging the status quo and able to constructively work with diverse teams and stakeholders who have deep technical and industry experience
need to inspire and empower colleagues through your strong communication and influencing skills and your track record of leading a team to deliver results
have an appreciation of the importance of the role an independent regulator has in getting better outcomes for the people of NSW.
While prior experience in electrical engineering or energy regulation is desirable, it is not essential.
We are looking for candidates with a strong willingness to learn and a passion for the energy sector.
The total remuneration package for this role is $223,417 to $247,520 per annum including superannuation.
