About the role The Director will play a crucial role as part of the leadership team within School Infrastructure NSW, dedicated to constructing schools, overseeing their maintenance to ensure safety and suitability, and fostering community engagement while collaborating with industry partners.
In this capacity, the Director will lead the development of strategic plans and initiatives aimed at providing exceptional asset management services for schools within the Asset Management Unit area.
A primary focus for the Director will involve formulating strategies and policies to uphold the quality of education in public schools, address stakeholders' requirements, and ensure the Department's adherence to legislative mandates.

About you We are looking for a passionate leader to develop a team in the delivery of asset management and maintenance. You will work in collaboration with public schools to support our learners and school staff. You will also be able to provide local strategic and asset advice to both your team and the wider Department of Education.
You will possess strong leadership and strategic planning skills to effectively manage the operations of the Asset Management Unit.
Your ability to foster a culture of high performance and collaboration while ensuring compliance with financial and government requirements will be crucial.
You must excel in project management, stakeholder communication, and team leadership to drive operational efficiency and achieve organizational objectives. Adaptability, problem-solving, and a commitment to innovation are essential traits to navigate the dynamic landscape of asset management and educational program delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management of a large complex organisation. Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as education, business, management, social sciences or communications, and/or equivalent knowledge and experience. Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check). Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education. As a condition of employment, successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number. This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC's validity (up to 5 years).
